Songs From the Sanctuary - Volume I
This project represents the meeting and merging of the rich musical traditions and heritage of the African American Church worship experience with the diversity of the sacred music expression of the Presbyterian Church and Princeton Theological Seminary. The album features performances and recordings in two historic sanctuaries: the Samuel P. Miller chapel on the campus of Princeton Theological Seminary and the Union Baptist church, the oldest Black Baptist church in Trenton, New Jersey’s capitol. This is the first in a series of sacred works that will showcase sundry genres of sacred music, including hymns, spirituals, classic gospels, and inspirational songs.
